Two home scale consumer biogas systems now on the market

In November 2015 Homebiogas Isreal opened their Indigogo campaign offering their Homebiogas system to the backer community. Their backing price was at 945 $ for one of their systems, also stating that their retail price once the campaign ended will be 1500 $. Within a few hours after starting their campaign they reached their goal of 100,000 $. Which is very impressive. Our friends from SolarCities bought 10 of their products, with intend of selling them for charity later on in the US. The Homebiogas campaign is now at about 166,000 $, backed by about 200 backers.

1500 $ for a home scale system that only consists of some bags, plastic, pipes, housing and a grinder seemed fairly much to me. The actual part costs will be about 400 $ - check for yourself. As the systems comes as a DIY kit you have to put the system together by your self. One big advantage is that their system is CE certified. A certificate needed when importing into the European Union (EU). We also have to note that Homebiogas only takes preorders via Indigogo.

On the other hand the Chinese company Puxin - well known for their Puxin mould - is selling a comparable home scale biogas system at the price of 260 $. The only difference might be the missing CE labeling - which makes it difficult when not impossible to import their biogas system into the EU.

The highly competitive prices of the Chinese system makes it an ideal candidate for evaluation. The huge price difference between the Chinese and the Israeli system could not be derived by the missing CE label.

It is now onto us to gain first experience with the new Chinese system. We have to evaluate and then compare it to Homebiogas.

I Have found a Co. That makes Bio-Gas producers and all of the equipment needed to turn a residential size home Methane generator. Also a way to make the Methane a little cleaner to its next step Hydrogen. They also have a larger model for agricultural and i am waiting to hear from a farmer who recently purchased and installed the large one. I will post the pictures on my site It looked to be quite the undertaking. They also have a way to pump the Methane into taks and notbladders so my old 8N Ford tractor will be a test subject for the tanked Methane.

The one for homes looks like a little Greenhouse so good suburban camouflage. The larger one for agriculture is also quite impressive in design. They have all the equipment you need. I will be writing in my Renewable Energy Blog <Gajetest.com> about them as soon as I hear from a farm that purchased their larger one, and recently installed it. They went all out and used steel for their tank and buried it. So of course I am very interested in what they have to say. I want to see what the results are and all the tech. The system has to work good before Gajetest LLC will promote them. This is the Chinese system and its less costly than any bio-generator I have investigated, I got really excited as this is something this company has been doing for years and not a new product and all of the equipment was brass or steel except for the tank.

Hi David, Thank you for your information. I'd love to hear about the company you are refereing to. Keep me posted! Thx!
